Hitachi Canadian Industries Ltd. (HCI) is an independent company wholly owned by Hitachi Ltd. of Japan. Established in 1988, HCI is part of the Power & Industrial division of Hitachi Ltd.
HCI has a large manufacturing facility located in Saskatoon, Canada. Hitachi Canadian Industries Ltd. (HCI) started manufacturing components for the Canadian power generation market with 30 employees in 1989. Since that time, HCI has seen significant and continual growth in both in the customers it serves and the diversity and complexity of the products and services supplied. These are some of the highlights in the growth and development of HCI.
| 1988 | Began manufacturing steam turbine casings. |
| 1990’s | Adjusted focus to include the production of large industrial gas turbine casings. |
| 1995 | Expanded our role in design and engineering of steam turbine diaphragms and valve using existing manufacturing facility and 3D CAD technology. |
| 1996 | Established the After Sales Service Division. |
| 2000 | Increased production space to 100,000 sq ft. Production activity further expands into steam turbine valve assembly and gas turbine final assembly. |
| 2001 | Became the North American service center for Hitachi H25 gas turbines. |
| 2002 | Further diversified and expanded to meet the needs of wind, oil & gas, and petrochemical industries. Began manufacturing pressure vessels, steel towers to support wind turbines. |
| 2005 | Increased production space to 200,000 sq ft. |
| 2006 | Manufactured our first shell and tube type heat exchanger. |
| 2008 | Celebrated our 20th Anniversary. |
